Biodigester CSTR – Continuous-flow Stirred Tank Reactor

For the most varied solid, pasty and liquid biomasses, our high-performance anaerobic digestion technology, the CSTR (Continuous-flow Stirred Tank Reactor) biodigestor. The CSTR biodigestor is based on a semi-continuous flow of fresh biomass input that is continuously and optimally mixed in the digesters, working at a controlled temperature, generating a high production of biogas. At the exit of the process we have the digestion, a nutrient-rich fertilizer.

The installation as well as the flow of material can be described as follows:

1

Loading

The organic substrates are loaded by means of pre-tanks or carriers, depending on the characteristics of the biomasses.

2

Digester

The digester is fed with the fresh material, where the mixture of the biomass occurs.

3

Gasometer

The gasometer tank ensures the storage of the biogas produced.

4

Energy

Biogas can be used to produce electricity and/or it can be purified, generating biomethane.

5

Fertilizer

The output digestion can be spread in the fields as fertilizer, or separated into solid and liquid fraction - in addition to being enriched and marketed as an organic mineral compound.

ADVANTAGES OF THE CSTR BIODIGESTOR:

Flexible and capable of optimally managing all types of biomass available

Simple and streamlined maintenance to minimize biodigester production stops

Maximized availability of installation thanks to high quality equipment and materials

High performance mixing system, resulting from a specific study of fluid dynamics, in collaboration with the University of Bologna - Italy

Reduced self-consumption by optimizing pump and mixer running time through the control system
